The Film Centers Around Hollywood Actor Johnny Marco As He Re-examines His Life
Somewhere movie synopsis: Sofia Coppola’s new film Somewhere seems to have the potential to do for Stephen Dorff what The Wrestler did for Mickey Rourke. Though he didn’t have as hard of a falling out, Dorff hasn’t seen GOOD spotlight since Blade, and that whole film was a failure in comparison to other superhero movies of the modern era in cinema. Yes, he was in Cold Creek Manor (which sucked), Felon (which was not popular enough to be able to effect the career of Dorff), and World Trade Center (which was decent, but wasn’t very good at the same time), but he wasn’t prominent in those rolls and didn’t have the effect on people that he could have in this film. Dorff can do what he has the potential to do in this film and become one of the top list actors in the world.
The film centers around Hollywood actor Johnny Marco as he re-examines his life when his 11-year-old daughter surprise-visits him at his house.
The film will certainly be well written and phenomenal directing (since Sofia Coppola is doing it), and the acting seems to be good, with the supporting cast of Elle Fanning (yes, Dakota’s sister), Benicio Del Toro, Michelle Monaghan, Chris Pontius (from Jackass and Wildboyz) and Laura Ramsey.
Bottom Line (predicted): A. Could very well be the Best Picture winner at the Oscars next year.
