Gamer movie synopsis: Gamer movie synopsis: The picture unfolds in a dystopian near-future, where computer devices are implanted in the brains of unlucky individuals, and the latest craze for a depraved few involves controlling the activities of these soulless guinea pigs. At the behest of the players, the subjects unwittingly participate in a massive, multilayer online game called Slayers; its seemingly invincible hero (Gerard Butler) ranks as the most worshiped celebrity on the planet. As the story rolls on, however, he suddenly begins to wrest his own individuality away from the system and determines to destroy the entire framework of the game - while audiences of millions watch his every move.
Box Office: Gamer opened with $3.3 million on its opening day, ranking #4 at the box office. In total, the film earned $9,156,057 in its opening weekend. Overall the film grossed $20,534,907 in the domestic box office and $18,848,906 in foreign box offices with a worldwide cumulative of $39,383,813
