Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 movie synopsis: The second live-action adaptation of Jeff Kinney‘s best-selling book has been set on March 25, 2011. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules is a realistic fiction novel written by American author and cartoonist Jeff Kinney, the second book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, and is preceded by Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The narrator of the book is Greg Heffley, and it reads like a journal. This book is being made into a movie as the sequel for the film. The cover mainly depicts Rodrick shoving Greg. I certainly know that the fans would like to see all the books made into movies,” producer Brad Simpson said.
It follows Greg Heffley who is now on the seventh grade and dealing with problems, new and old, but none more prominent than the punishments of his older brother Rodrick. The original cast from the first movie, including Zachary Gordon, Devon Bostick, Rachael Harris and Steve Zahn, all return (unfortunately, no Chloe Moretz this go around).Box Office: The film made $7,300,000 on its opening day, ranking #2 behind Sucker Punch. The film managed to rank #1 in the weekend box office. As the film already surpassed its budget, it is already a surprise box office hit.
