Pacific Rim: 2-minute long TV spot

Warner Bros. Pictures has released this new 2-minute long TV spot for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim!
This extended 2-minute TV spot features a longer version of the “apocalypse” speech from Idris Elba, and a more detailed presentation of the launch sequence for the giant robot Jaegers, too. There are some other flashes of new footage, along with a quiet, fearful audio track that goes for tense breaths rather than big “braaaaahm!” noises.

Based on an original screenplay by Travis Beacham, Pacific Rim is set in a not-too-distant future where monsters from another dimension nicknamed Kaiju begin to emerge from a rift that has opened up in the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. When these beasts begin to attack populated cities, the United Nation comes together and organizes the Jaeger program, the department in charge of creating skyskraper-sized robots that can be used to fight off the other-worldly invaders. The story centers on a washed-up veteran (Charlie Hunnam) and an inexperienced newbie (Kikuchi) who have to team up and pilot an outdated Jaeger model called Gypsy Danger in order to save the world from destruction.

Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters on July 12, the film stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke and Diego Klattenhoff.
